Revenue seize cocaine and herbal cannabis worth €565,000 at Dublin Airport

During the course of this week (week commencing 23 September 2024) Revenue officers seized cocaine and herbal cannabis, with a combined value of €565,000, in separate operations at Dublin Airport.

The discoveries, which were made as a result of risk profiling, included:

  • 1.65kgs of cocaine, with an estimated value of €115,000, and
  • 22.5kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €450,000.

The cocaine was discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Paris, France. The herbal cannabis was discovered, with the assistance of detector dog Jack, when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Ibiza, Spain.

Two men in their 30’s were arrested by An Garda Síochána, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Both individuals have since appeared before the courts.

Investigations are ongoing.
