Revenue seize contraband worth over €670,000 in Dublin
Dublin People 24 Sep 2024Over the course of last week (week commencing 16/09/2024) Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Dublin seized approximately 27 kgs of herbal cannabis and 2 kgs of cannabis resin, with a combined value of approximately €550,000, during the course of numerous operations.
Various quantities of other illegal drugs, worth almost €7,000, were also seized.
The illicit drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Enzo and Sam, in parcels that originated in the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.
The various quantities of other illicit drugs (worth almost €7,000) comprised: 410mls of cannabis oil, 129.3g of butane honey oil, 543g of edibles and 1,538 Diazepam, Zopiclone and Benzodiazepine tablets.
The retail goods (worth approximately €113,300) comprised: 313 x items of Adidas, Birkenstock, Balenciaga, Canada Goose, Christian Dior, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, ON Cloud, Palm Angels, Prada, The North Face, YSL, UGG and Tommy Hilfiger.
Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €113,300, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.
