Revenue seize contraband worth almost €617,000 in Dublin
Dublin People 06 Aug 2024Over the course of the past week (week commencing 29 July 2024), Revenue officers examining parcels at premises in Dublin and the Midlands seized 39kgs of cannabis resin and 11.8kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €473,000, during the course of numerous operations.
Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €24,500, was also seized.
The illegal drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling, in parcels that originated in the USA, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Spain, Thailand, Sweden and New Zealand. The parcels were destined for various addresses nationwide.
Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €119,000, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.
