Revenue seize €660,000 of cannabis in Dublin

May 15th saw Revenue officers take part in an intelligence-led operation that saw approximately 33kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €660,000 in Dublin seized.

The illicit drugs were seized, and a follow up search was conducted (under warrant) of, a premises in Dublin.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue’s Customs Service.

A male in his 50’s was arrested by the GNDOCB and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in Dublin. He has since been charged and will appear before CCJ District Court No. 1 this morning Thursday 16 May 2024.

Investigations are ongoing.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
