Over €300,000 in contraband seized in Dublin

Over the course of last week (week commencing 22/04/2204), Revenue officers seized contraband worth over €304,000 during the course of numerous operations in Dublin.

Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Dublin made the following discoveries, as a result of risk profiling:

  • 11.9 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €239,500,
  • 1.5 kgs of butane honey oil with an estimated value of approximately €30,200, and,
  • Various quantities of other illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €14,400.

The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels originating from the UK, the USA, Canada, Thailand and India and were intended for addresses nationwide.

A quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €20,000, were also seized due to Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

Retail goods worth approximately €20,000 were seized at Dublin premises last week.

Various drugs worth over €284,000 were seized from parcels at a Dublin premises last week.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.

Drugs (worth over €14,400) seized comprised: 1.2kgs of cannabis edibles, 55mls of cannabis oil, 221.6g of magic mushrooms, 32mls of synthetic cannabinoids, 300 Ephedrine tablets, 30 Tapentadol tablets, and 905 Benzodiazepine/Diazepam/Zopiclone/Zolpidem tablets.

The retail goods (worth approximately €20,000) comprised: 1x pair of Adidas sports shoes, 1x pair of Converse sports shoes, 1x pair of New Balance sports shoes, 1x pair of Golden Goose sports shoes, 2x Yves Saint Laurent handbags, 1x pair of Prada sunglasses, 10x pairs of Hermes sandals, 16x pairs of Birkenstock sandals, and 70x pairs of Nike sports outfits.

No further information is available as investigations are ongoing.
