Court Appearance: Assault on Mountjoy Street

Gardaí say they have arrested and charged a man following an incident of assault and criminal damage at a premises on Mountjoy Street, Dublin 7 last Tuesday (5th) evening.

The incident, which involved a number of individuals, occurred at approximately 8:20pm.

A man (aged in his 40s) was taken to Beaumont Hospital following the incident, where he remains in a critical condition.

A male (aged in his 30s) was arrested yesterday, Thursday 7th, in relation to this incident.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in North Dublin and has since been charged.

He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon, Friday 8th September 2023 at 4.00pm.

Investigations are ongoing.
