Five Northside Dublin SuperValu shops have donated €10,000 to St Francis Hospice.

The funds were raised through in-store collections in memory of Margaret Cranmer, a longtime and highly esteemed employee of SuperValu Killester, who died last June, at home and under the care of St Francis Hospice.

Margaret Cranmer worked in SuperValu Killester for more than 22 years.

She was known and appreciated by regular customers, as well as her colleagues.

They especially remember Margaret’s love of organising the fresh flower displays.

Margaret’s sister Susan and brother Kevin are also long-time employees with SuperValu.

When Margaret died last June, at home and under the care of St Francis Hospice, her SuperValu employers and colleagues decided, in her memory, to raise funds to support St Francis Hospice.

Five SuperValu outlets (Killester, Raheny, Talbot St, Donabate and Malahide) raised €10,000 through an in-store and online collection.

St Francis Hospice CEO Fintan Fagan expressed thanks to the SuperValu team, saying:

“This is such a wonderful community initiative, inviting your customers who are members of our local community to contribute to the support of hospice care in Margaret’s memory.

“Thank you to all who organised and participated in this event.”
