Dublin City Council presents ‘Funfest’ on Parliament St and Capel St

Dublin City Council has announced that ‘Funfest’ will take place this weekend on Parliament St and Capel St. 

The event is being organised by the Office of City Recovery to coincide with the ongoing traffic free arrangements on Parliament St.

Starting at 1pm each day and continuing until 6pm there will be entertainment, music, games and more for all the family!

Parliament St has been traffic-free every Saturday and Sunday since July 1st and will continue to be so until late August.

Pedestrians and cyclists are being encouraged to enjoy the street from 11am to 11pm without the presence of cars.

There will be traffic management on site during the hours of the traffic-free arrangement.

Deliveries can be made on the street up to 11am each morning. Essex Quay and Essex St will remain open with local access maintained between Essex Gate and Essex St East.

Emergency vehicular access will be maintained at all times as the emergency services will be able to access all locations on Parliament St.

Permanent changes to Parliament St are currently being finalised as part of the City Centre Transport Study, a draft of which will be published for public consultation in August or September.

Capel St has been traffic-free since May of last year.
