The Alzheimer Society of Ireland invites new services users to its Failte Day Care Centre in North Dublin

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) is inviting new service users to its Failte Day Care Centre in Clonsilla.

The ASI welcomes people with Dementia, their Carers, and families to get in touch if they require help or information about the services and support available.

The Day Care Centre caters for a wide catchment area, and now has increased capacity available for people living with Dementia The centre can cater for up to 16 clients per day, five-days per week, from 09:00 am till 16:00 pm. Service users receive breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea.

Failte Day centre first opened its doors in December 2010. It is situated in the old ‘Fold’ Nursing Home, where The Alzheimer Society of Ireland rent the premises.

The ASI welcomes people living with Dementia and their families to the Centre.

An estimated 16,967 people live with Dementia in Dublin and 64,000 people live with dementia in Ireland.

The ASI Failte Day Care Centre Manager, Jacqueline Fitzwilliam said: “We provide high standards of care in a lovely, friendly setting. On returning from the pandemic, we upgraded all furnishing and fittings, to enhance the ambience of the centre. We have a lovely sitting area outside, and a gorgeous walk around an enclosed garden area.

“We deliver person-centred care to all our clients. Throughout the day, we provide hands-on activities from our dedicated staff, who are fully trained in dementia awareness and responsive behaviour.

“We strive, every day, to provide the highest standards of care and support for our beautiful clients; we take great pride in the service we deliver to our clients and their families.”

The centre is located at the Fold Housing Complex 2D Cherryfield Lawn, Hartstown, Clonsilla, Dublin 15. D15DH9C. The catchment area for Failte Day centre is Dublin 11 and Dublin 15.

The Castleknock Social Club is located at Castleknock, Laurel Lodge Road, Dublin 15, D15 T3PN.

It takes place on the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon.
