Prime Arena Holdings has revealed the first CGI images and flythrough videos of the concept design for the proposed Cherrywood development, designed by global sports architecture firm Populous.
The reveal offers the first look at the proposed design and shows the arena’s multipurpose nature, with visuals presenting the venue hosting different types of events from ice hockey to tennis and concerts.
Located in Cherrywood, Prime Arena is set to become Ireland’s first truly multipurpose arena and hub for winter sports, featuring two Olympic-sized ice rinks and an 8,000-capacity arena, expandable to 10,500 for major events and concerts.
The development is projected to attract over 1.5 million visitors annually, positioning it as a major driver of economic activity and a landmark destination for both domestic and international audiences.
Populous are a world-leading sports and entertainment architecture practice with more than 40 years of experience, having delivered 3,000+ major venues across 34 countries.
Its portfolio includes some of the most recognisable venues in the world, including The Sphere in Las Vegas, Aviva Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Yankee Stadium.
The reveal marks the first time the public has seen how the completed venue will look, subject to planning approval. Prime Arena’s planning application is set to be submitted in the coming weeks.
Prime Arena’s new website, live from today, hosts the full CGI gallery, alongside the opportunity for the public to register their interest in Season Zero.
