After Shamrock Rovers disappointing result to Shelbourne last Friday night, Stephen Bradley commented on the number of chances his team wasted in the second half.
“We should win these games quite clearly,” he said to reporters following the game.
“We controlled the game, there was a ten- to 15-minute spell in the second half after the injuries that they obviously got on top.
“Danny Grant has a one-on one, Michael Noonan has a one-on-one, we should win the game quite comfortably I thought. Some of our stuff was excellent, we just need to be more ruthless.”
He also responded to rival manager Damian Duff”s comments about how he felt Shelbourne deserved to win the game and were unlucky to only leave with one point.
“Madness I don’t know what he was looking at,” the Rover’s gaffer said.
”I don’t remember any other chances they have really, apart from the goals.”
” I think its quite clear to see there’s only one team that should win that game”
“It’s not good enough, there was so much of this game that was so good and we should win the game.”
Despite Shamrock Rovers slow start to the season, Bradley still feels his team could go back to winning ways if his squad work on the little parts of their game.
“The players are working extremely hard, it’s just little things that we’re usually really good at,” he said.
“You don’t do what these players have done for years if you don’t have that character to keep going.
“They have done that time and time again.
“There was never any panic, there was a calmness and I think that’s because of what we’ve built over the years.”
Stephen Bradley and his Shamrock Rovers side will have to face relegation threatened Cork and Sligo over the coming days.
These are two huge chances to take an early lad in the title race as they currently sit in 4th place just one point behind top of the table Drogheda.
