The Templeogue Heritage Trail officially has joined the Dublin Discovery Trails app.
This trail, now part of a broader initiative to showcase South Dublin’s heritage, was made possible through a collaboration between South Dublin County Council’s County Promotion Unit and South Dublin County Libraries.
The Dublin Discovery Trails app came about through a collective effort by all four Dublin local authorities, supported by Fáilte Ireland, working together to bring the city’s rich, diverse heritage to life in a way that’s accessible to everyone whether you’re a history buff or just out for a casual stroll.
Mayor of South Dublin County Council Cllr Baby Pereppadan said “The addition of the Templeogue Heritage Trail to the Dublin Discovery Trails app highlights the historical and cultural significance of the area, offering users a valuable educational tool and an engaging way to explore our local heritage. The app already features other South Dublin Trails, such as the Tallaght, Clondalkin, and Rathfarnham Rebellion trail, the latter funded by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media through their Decade of Centenaries programme.”
“Through this app, users can explore Templeogue’s rich past in a way that’s engaging and interactive. The trails are available in eight different languages including French, German, Spanish, Ukrainian, Arabic and of course Irish”, said Ralph McGarry of South Dublin County Council’s County Promotion Unit.
“If you haven’t already, it’s time to download the Dublin Discovery Trails app free from the App Store or Google Play Store and experience Templeogue and the rest of South Dublin like never before. This mobile app is your go to resource for exploring the hidden gems of South Dublin. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s an adventure waiting to happen.”
