Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a young man was seriously injured during an assault in the Mercer Street area of Dublin 2 yesterday.
The man, aged in his 20s, was attacked shortly after 2.20pm and was taken to St James’s Hospital by emergency services where his injuries have been described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Gardaí say they have definitive lines of enquiry and investigations are ongoing.

“Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on Mercer Street, Dublin 2, on Tuesday, June 4,” they said in a statement.
They are asking anyone who was in the Mercer Street area at the time of the time to contact them.
