ARC Cancer Support has announced the return of Ireland’s biggest fashion show at the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin.

Now in its seventh year The ARC Fashion Show on March 19 promises to be the highlight of the Irish fashion calendar featuring a mix of some of the most important names in Irish fashion alongside the best of emerging talent.

This year’s show will be officially opened by broadcaster Mairead Ronan and supported by Arthur Cox Solicitors. All funds raise will go to ARC Cancer Support Centers providing free psychological and emotional support for anyone affected by cancer.

Every year the ‘ARC Angles’ sequence proves to be the highlight of the night where a group of women, who have experienced breast cancer, take to the runway to model a specially created capsule which always receives huge cheers from the 800-strong audience.

This year Galway-based designer Niamh Daniels has been chosen to create special prints for the sequence which include a series of wraps, shawls and kimonos.

Members of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers have teamed up with members of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) to showcase exquisite pieces of work including a hat veil featuring 300 hours of embroidery.

Internationally acclaimed Irish designer Katie Ann McGuigan will fly in from London to close the show with what’s tipped to be a stunning finale! Katie had a successful show in Paris last year and her sustainable pieces have appeared in Vogue and Love Magazine.

Speaking about the event, the show’s producer Eddie Shanahan, said: “There will be something for everyone and for any occasion at this year’s ARC Fashion Show – imagination, quality innovation and brilliantly executed ideas from a truly confident cohort of Irish designers."

Other designers including Helen Cody, Sorcha O’Rathallaigh, Sarah Murphy, Leonora Ferguson and Helen Hayes will show exquisite and distinctive craftsmanship alongside the edgy talent of Amie Egan, Colin Burke, Mona Swims and Alanagh Clegg at Four Threads.

New names on this year’s show include The Dualist, Landa Bags, Megan Shelly, Colin Horgan and Leyo Yoga – a stunning yoga and leisure collection

KDK and Sara O’Neill will show new print ideas and easy to pack holiday collections for Summer 2020.

Mairead Mangan, Head of Fundraising, ARC Cancer Support Centres, added: “The ARC Fashion Show now in its seventh year continues to raise vital funds and awareness since 2014. With over €300,000 raised to date and with an audience of 900 people in attendance every year, it has become a firm favourite among Irish fashionistas and a must go to see fixture in calendars across Ireland.

With the proceeds, ARC can continue to expand its free services and we were delighted to be in a position to open a new centre, Lowell House on Herbert Avenue, Dublin last year. We are absolutely delighted that Arthur Cox Solicitors have decided to extend their support by becoming the official main sponsor again.”

The ARC Fashion Show takes place on Thursday, March 19 in the RDS Concert Hall, Dublin 4. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm sharp. Tickets cost €60 and can be purchased by calling 01 830 7333 or www.arccancersupport.ie/events
