This event was entitled ‘Women’s Voice, from Chains to Choice’.

Students and staff dressed up in costume from their nominated decade.

Every Subject Department created informative displays highlighting the women who have contributed to their subject area.

Women such as Countess Markievicz, Dorothy Stopford Price, Jenni Wyse Power, and Mary Robinson for example, as well as St Raphaela, patron saint of the school, were personified and celebrated.

The event incorporated monologues, singing, poetry readings, and dramatic performances.

The student council ran a competition to design and produce a commemorative badge for the event.

The winning entry was worn by staff and students on the day.

It was a wonderful event, which inspired students and staff with a positive and determined outlook for the future of St Raphaela’s students, in today’s society.

St Raphaela’s is a Catholic secondary school under the patronage of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The development of the person is central to the school’s ethos and students are encouraged to be the best they can be.
