OUR Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, is in the running for a whopping €250,000 boost thanks to a new fundraising initiative.
The Irish-owned telecom company, Pure Telecom, announced last week that that it will attempt to raise the money for CMRF Crumlin – the fundraising body for Crumlin Children’s Hospital and the National Children’s Research Centre. As the charity receives no Government funding, the money raised will help the organisations continue their great work for sick children in Ireland.
Pure Telecom will help CMRF Crumlin to continue its work through a combination of staff and customer fundraising initiatives. Earlier this year, the company and its staff handed more than €120K to Make-A-Wish Ireland following its fundraising efforts for the charity.
For over 50 years, CMRF has played a key role in enabling cutting-edge research into childhood illness and treatment. Its work also provides funding for state-of-the-art equipment and hospital wards for Ireland’s sickest children.
Paul Connell, CEO and co-founder of Pure Telecom, said: “Crumlin Children’s Hospital and the National Children’s Research Centre are fantastic organisations that we greatly admire. The CMRF charity is a much-needed source of support for sick children and their families in Ireland, helping to improve the quality of kids’ lives and funding invaluable research into children’s illnesses.
“At Pure Telecom, we are always eager to give back to the community and this partnership is one that really resonates with members of our staff. Even to make a small difference in these children’s lives is incredibly worthwhile.”
Mary O’Donovan, director of fundraising, CMRF Crumlin, said: “CMRF Crumlin is delighted to be chosen as the charity partner for Pure Telecom.
“Every year, over 150,000 children and their families visit Crumlin Children’s Hospital from across the length and breadth of Ireland.
“We receive no Governmental funding so fundraising from amazing corporate partners, like Pure Telecom, is absolutely vital to us.”
