THE Dalkey Lobster Festival, which is returning to the Southside heritage town from Friday, August 24 to Sunday 26, is one of the major highlights of the seafood calendar.
The event promises a fusion of the best local food, top musical acts and great entertainment, as food writer Tom Doorley and friends from the Irish culinary scene host a series of educational food talks and cookery demonstrations in the new Lobster Village.
The festival will open with a night of art and music in Dalkey Castle while the main street will close from noon to 6pm each day and over 20 marques will be erected to cater for the many locals and tourists that are expected to visit.
Opening with a flurry of entertainment, the weekend will continue with food and music for every taste in all the restaurants and bars.
“The festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the seafood traditions of our beloved town and to showcase the renowned restaurants and bars that make Dalkey such a unique spot,” said Camillo Borza, one of the organisers.
