BUDDING fashionistas from across the Southside have been handed a glittering invitation to join Lorraine Keane and a host of Irish fashion, entertainment and sporting personalities at a VIP After-party following the biggest fashion fundraiser of the year.

Big names from the worlds of Irish fashion, entertainment and sport, including Mary Kennedy, Rosanna Davison, Andrew Trimble, James Patrice, Mo Kelly, Yomiko Chen, Sarah McGovern, Pamela Flood and Clementine MacNiece gathered last week for the launch of Fashion Relief.

Taking place in the RDS on Sunday, May 13 from 11am, the unique event will offer the public the opportunity to bag a bargain from the wardrobe of their style icon while raising vital funds for Oxfam Ireland’s hunger crisis appeal, which is providing life-saving aid to people facing starvation in East Africa and beyond.

Boasting pre-loved donations from the stars and brand-new items from designers and retailers across the nation, the event will showcase rail after rail of designer and premium clothes and accessories starting at just €5.

Fashion Relief supporters are then invited to shop till they drop in style by booking their place at a VIP After-party in ICE, a chic setting at the 5-star InterContinental Hotel in Ballsbridge.

Guests will be able to enjoy a glass of champagne and some nibbles as they unwind after a day at the sale rails alongside Lorraine Keane and her fellow fashion-savvy stars.

The VIP After-party kicks off from 5pm on Sunday May 13, after the public sale. Tickets cost just €20 and every cent will go to the hunger crisis appeal. Tickets can be found at fashionrelief.ie.

Members of the public are also asked to donate any unwanted items in resalable condition to support the hunger crisis.

Bag up any pre-loved or brand-new clothes, accessories or handbags, making sure they’re in good nick and ready for the sale rail.

Clearly label the bag/box for Fashion Relief and drop the bag/box to the nearest Oxfam Ireland shop. Find out where at oxfamireland.org/shops

Those wanting to do more than donate, are encouraged to volunteer, which will help to maximise funds raised on the day by supporting with logistics and staffing the stalls.

Stars who donated stock for sale at the event include host Lorraine Keane, Oxfam Ireland ambassadors Andrew Trimble and Lorna Weightman as well as stars like Cillian Murphy, Miriam O’Callaghan, Brent Pope, Rozanna Purcell, and Liam Cunningham.

Many of the stalls will be staffed by the high-profile personalities who donated stock with models and celebs taking to the catwalk at 1pm and 3pm to showcase some of the coveted designer items on offer.
