Pubs ‘Lineout’ for Six Nations spinal injuries campaign

Andrew Montgomery (barman), Tom Fitzgerald (owner of Fitzgeralds of Sandycove) and William Agar (manager) are promoting the ‘Lineout for SII' campaign.

SPINAL Injuries Ireland (SII) is running a unique campaign called ‘Lineout for SII’ which will take place in pubs across Ireland until March 17.

‘Lineout for SII’ is based around the five games that the Irish rugby team will play throughout the Six Nations Championship.

Rugby clubs, workplaces and pubs across Ireland are taking part by hosting lucky dip competitions and donating a prize of their choice.

All proceeds from the campaign will help support individuals and families across Ireland living with a spinal cord injury.

William Agar, the manager at the Fitzgeralds of Sandycove pub in Dublin, came up with the idea for ‘Lineout for SII’ last year

“I know some of the staff at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire who come into the pub here so I know how important SII’s work is to them.

“When I ran the ‘Lineout for SII’ campaign last year, I was delighted that our customers really got involved.

“I would ask that all rugby fans take part in the campaign in their local pub. It’s great fun and it is for a brilliant cause.”
