DÚN Laoghaire Rathdown County Council recently broke ground on a new development as it continues to roll out its housing delivery programme for 2017.
A number of new housing schemes have recently commenced at a variety of sites in the county.
In one of the latest, at Rosemount Court in Dundrum, work has commenced on a scheme that will deliver 44 new units of accommodation in a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom dwellings.
At Fitzgerald Park in Mounttown work on a mix of 50 units of accommodation is also underway.
In addition to these projects, the final phase of the redevelopment of Rochestown House, Sallynoggin, which will provide 14 new units for older persons, is due for completion towards the end of the year.
Meanwhile, work recently commenced on the construction of 4 one-bedroom units on the Sallynoggin Road and on a scheme of 10 one-bedroom units at The Brambles, Park Close, Glenageary.
The council stated that these construction developments are helping to ensure that real progress is being made in providing housing for people in the county.
“Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is committed to delivering on its housing targets in the coming months and years,” a council spokesperson stated.
The cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Cllr Cormac Devlin, added: “These new developments are yet another example of the council’s determination to lead the way in delivering homes for people.
“There is more work to do but I can see at first hand that there is real progress being made right across our county on housing.”
