There were over 150 images on display, which were taken by members at all levels, from nov-ice to advanced, over the last year.

A wide range of genres such as landscape, nature, portraiture, street, sport, travel and abstract work was displayed.

The exhibition was a huge success with over 200 visitors over the weekend, which comprised locals from Palmerstown, Lucan and West Dublin, as well as members from other camera clubs around Dublin.

The standard of images on display was highly commended by the visitors and also by national judges who judged the images before the awards night.

The best overall image, ‘Beachlife’, was awarded to Maria Forster.

Ian Hennessy won the best digital image with a travel portrait from Morocco called ‘Banana Man’.

Michael Church won best colour print and best mono print with two portraits, ‘Sara’ and ‘Girl in a Hat’.

The schedule for the summer consists of photographic outings to various locations on Wednesday evenings.

The new season will start back in the Parish Hall in September where there will be a variety of workshops and presentations by guest speakers.

There will also be a six-week beginners’ course which will be free for new members that would like to join the club.

There are members of all ages and skill levels in the club where people enjoy themselves and share their passion for photography while learning and progressing their skills to the next level.

New members are always welcome.
