Organised by the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club and sponsored by AXA Insurance the show has chosen CMRF Crumlin (the charity body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and the National Children’s Research Centre) as the charity partner for its 25th anniversary.
Tickets for the show taking place on Sunday, July 3 on the grounds of Terenure College are available now at www.irishjagclub.ie
The motor show has grown over the past 25 years to become the country’s largest classic and vintage motor event.
More than 1,300 classic and vintage cars will be displayed at this year’s show, from veteran 1890’s vehicles and exotic sports cars to a range of Irish 1920’s army vehicles, including the ‘Sliabh na mBan’ which featured in General Michael Collins’ convoy that was ambushed in 1922 at Béal na mBláth in West Cork.
The show will also include auto jumble and trade stands, food and refreshments, live music and an enlarged kids’ area with ziplining, go-carting, bouncy castles and much more.
The event will culminate with a prize-giving ceremony for the best vintage and classic cars at 4pm.
Funds raised from the Vintage Motor Show will be used by CMRF to support its Crumlin’s Big Book of Memories fundraising campaign, recently launched to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
This campaign is inviting the nation to commemorate the significant work the hospital has done since its inception, by recording their memories through the virtual memory book at crumlinmemories.ie.
This website will allow members of the public to share and read the touching stories which illustrate the hospital’s 60-year history.
From past patients and their loved ones to hospital workers and donors – anyone with a memory of the hospital can get involved, share their memories and help to shape the hospital’s future by donating online.
Money raised from the campaign will be used to make renovations to the Outpatients Department and the Nazareth Ward which treats the hospital’s youngest and sickest babies, many of whom have never left the hospital since birth.
Funds will also be used to cover the cost of a range of equipment urgently required by the hospital as well as supporting paediatric research.
Speaking about the partnership, Gerry Cully, CMRF Crumlin Hospital Liaison Manager said: “We are delighted that the Irish Jaguar and Daimler Club has chosen CMRF Crumlin as the charity partner for the 25th Anniversary of the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show following a very successful partnership last year.
“This is a milestone year for both the motor show and for the hospital which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
“Proceeds from the car show will contribute significantly to the ‘Crumlin’s Big Book of Memories’ fundraising campaign launched by CMRF to recognise the hospital’s incredible work and the nation’s memories of it over the past 60 years.
“Anyone with an interest in cars and families looking for a great day out should come join us on July 3.”
The 25th anniversary of the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show in aid of CMRF Crumlin takes place on the grounds of Terenure College, Templeogue Road, from 11am – 6pm.
