SOUTHSIDERS have been urged to get their aprons on and host a ‘Bake Party’ in aid of Concern’s work with Syrian women.

Concern Worldwide, Ireland’s largest humanitarian aid agency, launched its annual Bake Party fundraising event with the help of broadcaster Daniella Moyles.

The Spin 1038 presenter is asking Southsiders to grab their wooden spoons and organise a Bake Party in their workplace during the week of March 7-11 to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.

All donations from this year’s Bake Party fundraising event will go towards Concern’s work with Syrian refugee women.

“I’m absolutely delighted to get involved with Concern’s Bake Party event to mark International Women’s Day” Daniella said.

“Something as simple as a Bake Party with your work colleagues has the potential to make a huge difference to supporting the lives of Syrian women and their families.”

Regional Director for Middle East & Asia for Concern Worldwide, Bríd Kennedy, added: “Concern Worldwide is showing its solidarity with Syrian women, who have fled to neighbouring countries like Lebanon to escape the bombing and brutality.

“They are living a nightmare.”

Concern can help make your Bake Party a success by supplying bake packs, sponsored by Dr Oetker and Galaxy.
