Big drug bust in Clondalkin

Gardaí from Ronanstown Drugs Unit have seized large quantities of heroin and cocaine during a planned operation targeting drug trafficking involving west Dublin based organised criminal groups.

The drugs were recovered when the local gardaí, supported by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, carried out a search at a house in Clondalkin yesterday evening.

During the search Gardaí discovered three kilos of Heroin and one kilo of Cocaine with a combined estimated street value of €500,000. Other material including what is believed to be mixing agent was also seized during the operation.

A 24-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation used advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
