Gardaí appeal for witnesses after cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a serious hit and run road traffic collision that occurred this morning Tuesday, 9th June, at approximately 7.45am.

The collision involved a car and a male pedal cyclist.

The male pedal cyclist, aged in his 20s, was taken from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital with serious injuries.

The car left the scene.

The road is currently closed and the scene is being technically examined by local Crime Scene Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
