McAuliffe calls for urgent Dublin City Council investigation into dog poisoning in Johnstown Park, Finglas

Fianna Fáil T.D for Dublin North West, Paul McAuliffe, is urging members of the public not to walk their dogs in Johnstown Park, Finglas.

The call comes after a number of dogs in the area, who had been walked in Johnstown Park, presented to local vets showing signs of intoxication.

“Local vet Michael John Winters has confirmed that a number of dogs have presented at Fox Veterinary over the past few days showing signs of intoxication,” Deputy McAuliffe said.

“I have contacted Dublin City Council Parks to investigate the source of the poisoning as soon as possible.

“In the meantime, I would urge members of the public not to walk their dogs in Johnstown Park and would encourage any dog owners who may have been in the park over the last number of days to keep a close eye on their pets and visit their local vet if they notice their dog is unusually sleepy, unsteady on their feet or acting unusual.”
