€450,000 drug seizure in Dublin Airport

Last Friday, September 22, An Garda Síochána say they provided assistance in the seizure of approximately 22.5kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €450,000 at Dublin Airport.

A Garda spokesperson said:

“The illicit drugs were discovered when our partners in Revenue and detector dog, Blue, stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Los Angeles.

“An Garda Síochána arrested a woman in her 30s who was taken to a Dublin Garda Station, where she was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

“This person has since been before the courts.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
