173-unit development proposed for Coolquay, The Ward, County Dublin

A new planning application has been filed with An Bord Pleanala for the development of 173 residential units at Coolquay, The Ward, County Dublin.

The development will consist of 125 three-bed units, 17 four-bed units, 17 senior living units,  358 surface car parking spaces, including accessible spaces, electric vehicle charging points and 43 bicycle parking spaces.

A two-storey mixed use building for retail and commercial units is also included in the plans as is a landscaped plaza, a childcare facility, a two-storey community centre, open spaces, and “a multifunctional” biodiversity park.

“Road widening and improvement works are also proposed to the existing road network bounding the subject site including the provision of 602.5 meters of pedestrian and cycleways,” the application says.

The total gross area of the proposed residential development is 17,750.9 m2 with a net residential density c.17.47 units per hectare.
