Irish Water progressing with watermain improvement works in Brackenstown

Irish Water is progressing with construction of almost 1.5km of new watermain along the Brackenstown road to safeguard water supply to homes and businesses in the area.

The works, being carried out in partnership with Fingal County Council, are being delivered by GMC Utilities on behalf of Irish Water and are already underway and scheduled to be finished in mid-October.

Taking place along Brackenstown Road from the St. Cronans Avenue Junction to the Church Road junction, the works are being delivered under the Irish Water Leakage Reduction Programme.

Fingal County Council say areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise impact on customers.

“Traffic management will be in place during this time,” the council said.

“Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times.

“The works may involve some short-term water shut offs and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to any planned water shut offs.

“We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.

“Irish Water and Fingal Council Council regrets any inconvenience caused.”
