THERE was a magical surprise at Temple Street Children’s Hospital last week when the cast of The Helix Pantomime Robin Hood arrived in character to spread some Christmas cheer.
The Helix has teamed up with Temple Street as its charity partner again this year and held a special performance last Thursday (December 13) with all proceeds going directly to the hospital.
To date The Helix and TheatreworX have raised €23,000 for Temple Street through designated charity shows over their two year partnership.
Special Events and Community Manager at Temple Street, Angela McNulty, said Christmas truly starts at the children’s hospital when the Helix Panto cast come to visit the little patients.
“Their charity show in support of Temple Street has become such a wonderful seasonal tradition and the funds it raises is helping to make little lives better every day,” she said.
“We would like to thank the team in The Helix and the TheatreworX cast and crew for their incredible support and on behalf of our doctors, nurses, staff and families we wish them all a very merry Christmas,” she added.
Robin Hood is running at the Helix until January 20.
