Work set to begin on new Clonshaugh hotel soon

WORK on a new hotel on a site at Clonshaugh, adjacent to Dublin Airport, is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

The Seraphine Group’s 10-storey hotel will provide 327 bedrooms with extensive conference and banquet facilities. A 650-space Park & Ride facility will also be provided to service Dublin Airport.

“This is an exciting project, bringing an International hotel brand to Dublin Airport and creating close to 100 jobs once open” said Geoff Kinsella, Development Director at Seraphine Group.

“A four star Holiday Inn hotel will bring a new generation of design and comfort in hotel accommodations and sits really well within our existing portfolio of hotels already operational”.

The Seraphine Group bought the site with full planning permission in place for the development.

The possibility of having two hotels serving different markets on the one site was explored, but plans are underway to revert to the previously granted planning permission and immediately commence works to bring construction jobs immediately on the project.

Industry sources such as Failte Ireland have identified a peak demand shortfall estimated of some 5,000 hotel rooms.

The Seraphine Group say that strategically, a hotel of the scale proposed is ideally suited to helping satisfy this demand.
