A FRESH appeal for information on the murder of a homeless man who frequented the Ongar area in Dublin 15 has been made by Crimestoppers and An Garda Síochána.
Michal Kurek’s body was found in a laneway in Ballyboughal, North County Dublin, on August 4 at around 10.40am. He died from multiple stab wounds.
Kurek (33) was originally from Dziewin in Poland and had lived mainly in Ireland since 2010. Last week Crimestoppers and An Garda Síochána made a renewed appeal for information on the murder.
“We are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who saw Michael between Thursday, August 3 or Friday, August 4 to come forward,” said Detective Inspector Eddie Carroll of Balbriggan Garda Station.
“Based on Michal’s last known movements, we are particularly keen to hear from people residing in the areas of Ongar, Clonsilla, Coolmine, Hartstown and Huntstown. We are also appealing to members of the Polish community. I genuinely believe that members of the public have information in relation to the murder and I am asking these individuals to come forward.”
Crimestoppers posters have been designed in the Polish language to assist any witnesses from Poland.
Information can be given to investigating Gardaí at Balbriggan Garda Station on 01-6664500 or at any Garda Station. Information can be given confidentially by calling Crimestoppers on 1800-250025.
