LOCALS in the North Inner City are speculating who might have scooped the recent €9.4 million jackpot, but with the city flooded with GAA fans when the ticket was sold the winner may not even be a Dub.
The ticket was bought at the SPAR shop on Talbot Street.
The lucky millionaire has made contact with Lottery HQ but Dermot Griffin, National Lottery Chief Executive, is keeping his lips sealed as to their identity because they want to remain anonymous.
“While the winning ticket was sold in Dublin, there is a real possibility that the winner may not be a Dubliner as it was a very busy day in the capital on Saturday, particularly with Kerry and Mayo fans up for the big match in Croke Park,” he said.
“Winning a jackpot of this size can be a very daunting experience. We always recommend that winners seek independent financial and legal advice before they receive their prize.”
