CABRA is the place to be this weekend if you want to see Ireland’s finest Ultimate Frisbee clubs in action.
The sixth Irish Flying Disc Association (IFDA) Women’s All-Ireland Ultimate Championships will take place in Pope John Paul II Park, Nephin Road, Cabra, on Saturday, August 19, from 10am to 7pm, with the final commencing at 5.30pm.
The one-day event will see six teams from three clubs compete to be crowned All-Ireland Champions. Although yet to be confirmed, it is expected that the winning team will be awarded a spot in the World Flying Disc Federation 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, next July.
The two favourites to win the championship this year are reigning champions Rebel Ultimate, from Cork, and Dublin Gravity. The event is being hosted and run by Dublin Gravity in association with the Irish Flying Disc Association, the governing body for disc sports in Ireland.
Ultimate Frisbee has been played in Ireland for over a decade.Â
