THE 40 bus route is to be extended to Charlestown Shopping Centre from February 19.
In a response to a request from Cllr Paul McAuliffe (FF) last month, Dublin Bus Chief Executive, Ray Coyne, said the public transport body would be making improvements to both the 40 and 40b routes.
“The changes will help meet increased customer demand, ensure a greater level of reliability and see the extension of Route 40 to Charlestown,” he said.
“Recent changes to the bus network in other parts of Dublin have improved the customer experience and we expect the proposed changes to Route 40 and 40b will deliver similar benefits to our custumers in Finglas and across north Dublin.”
Cllr McAuliffe later confirmed the extended service to Charlestown would start on February 19.
“This has been a much promised improvement dating back to January 2014,” he said.
