Drugs and cash seized in Finglas

The drugs seized last night.

TWO men were arrested in the Finglas area last night during a Garda operation that saw drugs with an estimated street value of €190,000 and a quantity of cash seized.

The operation by Gardaí from the Special Crime Task Force and the Organised Crime Bureau Unit was part of an investigation into serious organized crime in Dublin.

Last night’s operation saw the seizure of 30 kg of Cannabis and a half of kilo of Cannabis Herb.

Two men aged 45 and 56 were arrested and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

The 45 year old man is expected to appear before the Courts of Criminal Courts of Justice this morning while the second man remains in Garda custody.

Gardai say operations like last night’s use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” a spokesman said.

“Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
