THREE DCU students are set to embark on the adventure of a lifetime after being selected to represent Ireland in the Red Bull ‘Can You Make It?’ Challenge.
Multimedia students Conor Bradshaw (20), Katie Mannion (21), and Gareth Jordan (20), otherwise known as the ‘Paddy’s in Paris’, will now set off for Europe on April 11 to try make it from Barcelona to Paris.
The challenge is to make it from the Catalonian capital to Paris using only cans of Red Bull as currency.
The ‘Paddy’s in Paris’ team are competing with 165 other groups from around the world that were chosen from 3,000 applicatants to the challenge.
Teams were chosen based on their daring spirit, persuasive charm and passion for adventure. The epic journey can be followed on Red Bull TV online from April 12.
Conor, Katie and Gareth say they’re always up for a challenge and are confident that their Irish gift of the gab will stand them in good stead during the contest.
The selected teams will be sent to one of the five starting points in Europe: Barcelona, Florence, Berlin, Edinburgh and Prague.
Teams must stop at a minimum of six checkpoints before reaching the finish line in Paris, which are spread across 40 European destinations incluiding Copenhagen, London, Budapest, Geneva, Bordeaux, Vienna, Krakow, Venice and Madrid.
Each member of the overall winning team will be awarded an epic summer adventure in Europe, provided by Contiki. All three members of the overall winning team will be invited to be Contiki Travel Ambassadors this summer, having the time of their lives travelling across Europe and experiencing the best of Contiki’s amazing European adventures.
