A NEW nursing home that was previously a hotel is to create over 140 jobs in Finglas it was announced last week.

Ardmore Lodge Nursing Home on Finglas Road, was officially opened by outgoing Health Minister, Leo Varadkar.

It will initially accommodate 89 residents with an additional 40 being cared for in the future in a newly planned extension set to commence later this year.

Ardmore Lodge is a ‘Fair Deal’ approved care facility that’s focused on providing the highest standards of respite, short-term convalescent and long-term nursing care.

Minister Varadkar said the development was extremely positive news for the local community.

“In addition to the very important role nursing homes play in meeting the health and social care requirements of our ageing population, the sector is also a significant employer so I am extremely pleased to see the opening of Ardmore Lodge and the creation of these new jobs,” he said.

“This new nursing home will help support the care needs of the local population in North West Dublin and is a notable economic boost to the surrounding community.

“I offer congratulations to Sean McNally, John Martin, and their team for this extremely positive development and wish them well in their future endeavours.”

Managing Director at Ardmore Care, John Martin, said the 140 new jobs and the nursing home itself were badly needed in a part of Dublin that has a rapidly ageing local community.

“Ardmore Care’s focus is on employing exceptional people to provide exceptional care, and we are now actively recruiting suitably qualified nurses and healthcare assistants to join the new team at Ardmore Lodge,” he said.

“Our ethos and vision is to deliver resident-focused care to the highest standards by committed staff in a safe and homely environment.

“We are dedicated to enhancing residents’ quality of life by promoting independence, preserving dignity and maintaining privacy in a comfortable and safe homely environment that is also based on strong local community links.

“With Sean McNally, our Executive Chairman, I’d like to thank Minister Varadkar for his generous endorsement and look forward to Ardmore Lodge becoming a real pillar of care for the local community in the years to come.”

Formerly the Ardmore Hotel, the new nursing home has been converted into a care facility finished to a high standard with a modern infrastructure, including governance and management structures based on nursing home care best practice.

Ardmore Care is led by Executive Chairman Sean McNally and Managing Director John Martin, together with an experienced team with over 30 years combined experience in the nursing and care sector.
