Do not swim notice in place for Malahide Beach

Due to an Uisce Éireann Irish Water sewage emergency overflow at Malahide Beach, a Prohibition  “Do Not Swim” notice has been put in place with immediate effect and will remain in place for five days.

The EPA Ireland and HSE Ireland have been notified.

In a statement, Fingal County Council said:

“Although the location is not a designated bathing water area, it is a highly frequented beach and this measure is being implemented as a precaution to protect public health. The beach is still open to the public.

“Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at Beaches.ie – Find the best lake and sea swimming near you or by checking the notice board at the entrance to the beach.
