Local residents are set to gain from the third annual Belcamp-Darndale-Moatview Community Fair, taking place on Thursday, May 14 at the Darndale Belcamp Village Centre.
A diverse mix of exhibitors from education, employment programmes, health and wellbeing, legal, youth, childcare and rehabilitation services will be present, reflecting the depth of support available in the area.
Running from 12-4pm across the Village Centre campus, this year’s event promises to be bigger and more engaging than ever, showcasing the wide range of local services, supports and opportunities available within the community.
Throughout the day, attendees can explore a wide range of opportunities and supports with groups, services, agencies and local leaders on hand to share information and connect with residents.
The Community Fair is organised by Northside Partnership’s Empowering Communities team, in collaboration with Darndale Belcamp Village Centre.
Northside Partnership is a development company dedicated to improving the lives of people in north-east Dublin.
Dr Jack Nolan, Chair of the Darndale Together Implementation Oversight Group, said the event continues to grow in impact year-on-year.
The Darndale Implementation Oversight Group is a Dublin City Council initiative to tackle complex and engrained issues in Darndale.
“The Fair is a fantastic opportunity to discover the many positive pathways and supports available, and to see first-hand the strength and potential within the community,” he said.
Nicko Murphy, CEO of Darndale Belcamp Village Centre, highlighted the importance of connection.
“This event brings together the many organisations working across the community in one welcoming space,” he said.
“It offers a valuable opportunity for people to explore employment, education and training options, while also learning about the supports available.
“I would encourage everyone in Darndale, Belcamp and Moatview, as well as neighbouring areas such as Coolock, Kilmore, Clongriffin and Belmayne to come along and be part of the day.”
Ger Nolan, Empowering Communities Coordinator with Northside Partnership, said raising awareness is key.
“There are so many opportunities within the community, and this event helps to make them more visible and accessible,” she said.
“We are really looking forward to bringing people together again for a day of connection and celebration.”
Dearbháil Butler, Northside Partnership Empowering Communities Team Leader, reflected on the success of previous years and plans for 2026.
“The last two Community Fairs have been hugely positive and this year we are building on that momentum,” she said.
“We are expanding the offering to create an even more vibrant and engaging experience.
“There will be music, raffle prizes, free treats and, hopefully, sunshine alongside a great sense of community spirit.
“We would love to see as many people as possible come along and get involved.”
