More than 1,100 people attended the launch of the new Swords Castle Food Market on Saturday, despite persistent rainfall throughout the day.
Located in the historic heart of Swords Castle, the market brings together local producers, food vendors, and artisan traders — helping to revitalise the town centre and support the local economy.
It also delivers on key aims set out in the Fingal Food & Drink Strategy, which promotes sustainable food culture and stronger links between communities and local food producers.
The market will take place on the third Saturday of every month through to September, running from 10am to 3pm, with free entry.

“It was brilliant to see so many people come out, even in the rain, to support local food producers and enjoy the atmosphere at Swords Castle.
“This market has huge potential not just to boost footfall in the town centre, but to celebrate local food and community in a meaningful way.”
Residents are encouraged to attend future markets and to share feedback that can help shape the initiative as it grows.
