With Halloween just around the corner, Fingal County Council is brewing up a cauldron full of exciting events to ensure that this year’s celebrations will bring everyone a ghostly good time.
As part of its Safer Halloween initiative, the Council is keen to ensure that as well as offering up a bewitching array of events to entertain residents of all ages, that people plan ahead, stay alert and be safe when out amongst the zombies, ghouls and witches taking to Fingal’s streets this October..
This year there over 40 spine-tingling community-based events happening throughout the County in the lead-up to October 31st to help everyone have a wickedly good time.
Local libraries across Fingal are also getting into the Halloween spirit with spooky arts and crafts sessions, family friendly Halloween movies and storytelling of seasonal tales. The highly anticipated Festival of Fire will be dazzling the night, Thursday, 31 October in four key locations -Balbriggan, Blanchardstown, Swords and Malahide. Rock the night away with our Scary DJ followed by a mesmerising firework display at 7:30 pm.
The Council wants to remind residents that bonfires and burning of waste is prohibited and illegal. Fingal County Council spends up to €150,000 each year to clean up & repair damage caused by bonfire and urges members of the public to report incidences of material being collected through the council’s Customer Care team on 01 890 5000 or alternatively by emailing:

Don’t forget your beloved pets! Keep them safe indoors during the Halloween hullabaloo – fireworks can be as scary as a ghost for our four-legged pals.
The annual Halloween Amnesty will once again be taking place. Household combustible materials (beds, sofas, wooden doors etc.) will be accepted free of charge at Fingal County Council’s Recycling Centres; Estuary, Swords and Coolmine for residents of Fingal (will require proof of address) from Wednesday, 23 October to Thursday, 31 October.
