Gardaí say they have arrested and charged a man and woman in relation to a number of burglaries in North Dublin last Friday (5th) and Saturday (6th).
A Garda spokesperson said: “At approximately 6pm on Saturday 6th January, 2024 Gardaí were alerted to a resident having disturbed a man in their property in Portmarnock.
“Gardaí conducted a search of the area and stopped a vehicle nearby with a man and woman in the vehicle.
“A search of the vehicle was conducted and a large quantity of property stolen from the burglary was located, along with other property.
“This other property has been identified as stolen from other burglaries in North Dublin on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th January, 2024.
“A man aged in his 30s and a woman aged in her late 20s, were arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in North Dublin where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
“Both the man and woman have since been charged in relation to these burglaries and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, tomorrow morning Monday 8th January, 2024 at 10.30am.
“Investigations ongoing.”
