Uisce Éireann and Fingal County Council wishes to advise customers in Malahide that repair works will continue until this afternoon.

A spokesperson said that “while works are underway, customers in Seapark, Biscayne and surrounding areas will continue to experience temporary low pressure and/or outages.”

Following the works, it typically takes two to three hours for supply to return as water refills the network.

“Crews will make every effort to complete the works as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to homes and businesses.

“As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.

“Uisce Éireann advises customers to familiarise themselves with their storage capacity,” they say.

Tselo Tlou, Uisce Éireann, explained: “We understand that this type of work may be disruptive to the local community and I would like to thank those customers in advance for their understanding while we work to complete these works as quickly as possible and restore normal water supply.”

“Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.”

Following this type of work, occasionally issues such as cloudy water (air bubbles), discolouration or internal airlocks may arise.
