Local St Patrick’s Day Parades return

FINGAL is ready to welcome a return of the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parades with events set to take place across the County.

In addition to the parades being held in Balbriggan, Blanchardstown and Swords, Fingal will also be introducing a parade in Malahide this year.

Community groups in Rush, Lusk and Skerries will also host celebrations on 17 March.

As always, everybody is welcome to come along and enjoy the various festivities taking place.

For this year, locations and starting times are as follows:
• Swords – 11.00 am
• Balbriggan – 12.00 am
• Rush – 1.00 pm
• Blanchardstown – 1.00 pm
• Lusk – 1.30 pm
• Malahide – 2.00pm
• Skerries – 3.00 pm

There will be over two hundred groups taking part in festivities on the day, with key buildings across the County also being illuminated green to mark the occasion.

Mayor of Fingal Cllr Howard Mahony said: “Saint Patrick’s Day offers a fantastic opportunity for Fingal residents to come together to celebrate our heritage and our history.”

In order to facilitate the parades, residents are advised that road closures and diversions will be in place at various times on Thursday 17th of March.
