Irish Water and Fingal County Council say they have successfully completed repairs to a burst water main which caused outages to some areas of North County Dublin.
Customers is the following areas were still affected today Lissenshall, Loughshinny, Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Hollywood and surrounding areas.
Following reports of supply disruptions, dedicated water service crews were immediately mobilised.
Crews worked through the night and today to repair the burst and subsequent issues with valves.
Water supply has begun to return.
However, it will take a number of hours for reservoirs to refill and the network to fully recharge due to the size of the affected area.
Balbriggan and Skerries may continue to be impacted until later this evening as reservoir levels continue to restore.
Alternative water supplies for customers will continue to be available in the following locations until normal supply is fully restored to all customers: Rush – Tesco Shopping Centre, Whitestown Road; Lusk – Rathmore Park, Car Park; Skerries – Skerries Mills, Car Park; Balbriggan – Beside Castle Mill Shopping Centre. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

“Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise.
