All prior warning notices have been removed at Fingal beaches apart from at Rush North and Sutton Beach while the Do Not Swim notice remains at Balbriggan Beach, the local authority has announced.
Bathing water quality results from the last scheduled samples of the bathing season, taken on September 5, show that the Front Strand Balbriggan met the standard of ‘Poor’ water quality while Rush North Beach, Skerries and Sutton met the standard for ‘Sufficient’ and ‘Good’ quality respectively.
The beaches in Loughshinny, Rush South, Portrane, Donabate, Portmarnock and Claremont all tested for ‘Excellent’ water quality.
“As a result prior warning notices have been lifted at all beaches apart from Rush North and Sutton, the prior warning notices have been extended at both beaches until Friday 9th September,” Fingal County Council said.
Resamples have been taken at all three beaches and results are expected back on Friday.
