Teenage boy dies after getting into difficulty at Burrow Beach

A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming at Burrow Beach last night.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at Burrow Beach near Sutton at 7.30pm yesterday after they were alerted that a swimmer had got into difficulty.

After he was taken out of the water the teenager was brought to Beaumont Hospital and then to Temple Street Children’s Hospital, where he later died.
