The Department of Education has announced that a new primary school will be developed in Killester under the patronage of Educate Together.
The eight-classroom school will serve the areas of Clontarf, Raheny, Killester and environs.
Fine Gael TD Richard Bruton said that it has been a challenge for the school to operate from “the grounds in the local rugby club in Sutton since it first opened its doors in 2019.
“The work of the patron Educate Together and the staff of the school must be commended for creating such a positive experience for pupils during that time.”
The building project for this school will provide for eight mainstream classrooms and two classrooms for pupils with special education needs, and will be expandable to facilitate potential future growth in enrolments.
It will be located on the current site of Killester College.
The Department of Education is working to make interim provision for the school on this site for the 2022/23 academic year.
The Cathal Brugha Street Street property formerly owned by TU Dublin will be used as a relocation and consolidation of FET facilities currently in Marino College of Further Education and Killester College of Further Education, commencing from September 2022.
