Dublin Bay North will receive almost €16m in funding for the development of walking and cycling infrastructure in the area.
This funding is part of an overall package of €240m to support sustainable transport projects around the country, which was announced by the National Transport Authority this morning.
Fianna Fail TD Sean Haughey welcomed the news.
“Over the last number of months the government has funded local authorities throughout the country to re-orientate road-space toward our pedestrians and cyclists.
“Today’s announcement is underpinned by this governments commitment to invest almost €1 million per day in walking and cycling infrastructure in 2021.
“During this pandemic, we’ve reconnected with our local areas and we’re all aware as to why and where improvements to walking and cycling infrastructure are needed.
“I am delighted to see that the people of Dublin Bay North will greatly benefit from today’s funding announcement and I particularly welcome the €6m set aside for the Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Scheme.”

- Finglas to Killester Cycle Scheme €500,000
- Coolock to Clontarf Cycle Scheme €100,000
- Glasnevin to Clontarf Rd Cycle Scheme €1,000,000
- Santry River Greenway €100,000
- Raheny to Kilbarrack Cycle Scheme €50,000
- Howth Road – Baldoyle to Fairview Cycle Scheme €100,000
- Bayside to Donaghmede Cycle Scheme €50,000
- S2S Extension Sutton to Malahide €310,000
- Baldoyle to Howth €1,000,000
- Dublin Road to Dublin Street Baldoyle €1,000,000
